QR Pagoda Style Railway Station Building

$45.00

The Pagoda stations were constructed at nine locations around Queensland, between 1912 and 1927 at Gayndah; Home Hill, Yarramin; Kunwarara; Brooloo; Cooyar; Kilcoy; Dirranbandi and Meandarra.

A number of these stations survive to this day in various historical precincts across Queensland. They were originally designed for awnings on both sides, but appeared to be only fitted with an awning on one side. The more grand façade of these buildings indicated that they were destined for terminus stops, however in two cases this turned out to be only temporary as their lines were extended.

They contained a station office; waiting shed and a ladies room.
